Narrative Idea

The idea of our narrative came from the Arctic Monkeys video "Why do you only call me when you're high". We really liked this idea because it showed the main character getting constant messages from a woman who he had some sort of connection with. The texts involved such messages as "Where are you?" and "Come home please". This shows the audience that there has been some sort of tension between these two. We liked the idea of the character having walked out on someone because of some reason or another. On the other hand we wanted to challenge this narrative by showing how the couple fell out and what tore them apart. We have decided that we will show a tension shot video of a husband walking in on his wife cheating. He then sees this, shouts and walks out on a long and endless journey. I think that we adapted this very well and that it gives the audience a clearer image of what is actually happening on the scene.

New Costumes

Seeing as we are completely remaking our music video we decided to go with a change of style. The narrative is a young man  who comes home from work one day and goes upstairs to find his wife cheating. We thought that a suit would be the appropriate costume for Henry to wear because of the portrayal of his character. We simply got a blazer, white shirt, trousers and a tie for this costume. We did not need shoes as they were not going to be visible in the shot. The other costume we thought that we would use is suit shirt and trousers but with a beige coat over the top. The reason for this is that because Henry is leaving the house for what he has seen, he should not go back out with a suit. So, for this we decided to add a series of shots to show Henry picking up and item of clothing and putting it on. This worked very well in the post production.
